Cezaris Graužinis graduated from Moscow's Lunacharsky State Institute of Theatre (GITIS) in 1990; then he studied the Suzuki Method of actors’ training Suzuki Company of Toga (SCOT, Japan). In the past two decades then he has been extensively travelling and staging performances in theatres across Finland, Faeroe Islands, Sweden, Slovenia, Croatia, Poland, Lithuania and Greece.
In 2003, he set up his own troupe, “cezario grupė” (cezaris group), which he has led to the Lithuanian national Golden Stage Cross award in 2004 (performance Arabian Night by Rolland Shimmelpfennig). Along with his stagings for “cezario grupė”, he worked in Helsinki Viirus theatre as artistic director (2007-08) and has continuously been teaching in Lithuania, Finland and Sweden.
In 2007 he received Karolos Koun award by The Union of Greek Theatre and Music Critics as the best director of the year.
He wrote plays based on writtings by Franz Kafka - “No Return”, staged in Viirus theatre company, Helsinki (Finland), 2005, Longos - “Daphnis&Chloe: a pleasuretrip” staged in Poreya theatre, Athens, (Greece), 2006, Nikos Kazantzakis -“Zorba. The True Story”, Greek National theatre, Athens (Greece), 2009, the Marquis de Sade – “de Sade: to Justine” Exarheyon theatre, Athens, (Greece), 2010.
He wrote two original plays for “cezario groupė” – “Lithuania’s Day (Courageous Country)” 2007 and “All or Nothing” 2009.
